Cheated on my book diet already!

Like many people who make a New Year's resolution to go on a diet, I cheated on my book diet before January was even over. I couldn't help myself, though. An ad popped up in my Facebook stream telling me that Bethany House was offering a free novella from Jen Turano as an introduction to her new series.




Jen Turano writes inspirational romances that are light and funny with lots of action. I've read her Ladies of Distinction series, and all the books bounced along like screwball comedies. They are clearly aimed at Christians who want to have a good time and aren't overly preachy. If you have an older relative that you know likes romance novels but you don't want to take a chance on handing her something too steamy, Jen Turano's books are a safe bet.

From the bits of information that I could find, the new series is called Apart from the Crowd and each heroine is a wallflower at a society ball. I plan to post more about my impressions of the free novella, At Your Request, as soon as I finish reading it, but you don't have to wait to see what I think. Go grab it while it's still free!
